Austin was the great-grandfather of Tim Peters. When Tim founded Crema in 2002, he carried that standard forward — not as nostalgia, but as a genuine commitment to the craft Austin built his name on. First Call Roasters is that legacy, in every bag we roast.

Tim Peters, Austin's great-grandson, launches Juicy Beans — planting the seed of what Crema would become.
Crema is born. Roasting in-house from day one, with the same drive for consistency and quality that defined Austin's coffee palaces over a century earlier.
The brand evolves into Crema Coffee Garage — a full-service coffee destination covering roasting, equipment, training, and wholesale partnership.
Crema now partners with independent cafes across Newcastle, the Hunter Valley, and Brisbane — still roasting, still training, still backing the people who take coffee seriously.

First Call is a medium to full body blend with a light citrus acidity. It pulls a smooth, easy-drinking espresso that performs beautifully black or with milk — the mark of a blend that works across your entire menu, not just one style of service.
