The Hario Smart G Electric Kit is the New Age in Hand Grinders, Making Grinding Coffee More Efficient Than a Conventional Hand Mill!
The Hario Smart G Electric Kit combines the compact & durable Hario Smart G Hand Coffee Mill with an electric grinder, allowing you to choose to either grind your coffee beans automatically or manually.
You are given the choice between the standard crank handle or to insert the electric grinder to grind more efficiently and consistently.
The Hario Smart G Coffee Mill is a new hand grinder from Japan in Transparent Black, featuring ceramic burrs, a compact body, and a silicone rubber band to store the handle when not in use.
Hario Smart G Electric Grinder Kit Video:
Hario Smart G Electric Grinder Kit is considered to be the new age in coffee hand grinders, making grinding coffee more efficient than a conventional hand grinder.
Made in Japan, the coffee mill is the latest hand grinder from Hario. It features ceramic, conical burs that are renowned by coffee lovers for not just being consistent and precise, but for being a reliable and long-lasting design.
The burrs can be easily adjusted to your desired grind coarseness, simply using the little dial underneath the burrs. It sports a compact and light body design.
Made with BPA-free plastic making it a great travel grinder for those of you on the go. It also has a silicon rubber band to store the handle when you're not using it.
The transparency in the colour design is a really smart feature, as it allows you to see your coffee grinding into the bottom chamber as it's happening.
This particular grinder has been designed to suit any grind coarseness between that of a Stovetop and a French Press. So this would be perfect for anyone who has an Aeropress, Pour Over Chemex, Bialetti, Plunger but it would even go great for those of you with batch filter Brewers. Like the Moccamaster Thermal or the Breville Precision Brewer for example.
The top chamber can hold up to 24 grams of your coffee beans and the bottom chamber displays the quantities needed for both a 1 and 2 cup size. Just keep in mind that these quantities will only reflect recipes for Hario specific products, like the pour over set that I'm going to grind my coffee for today.
If you like to be more traditional, simply pop on the lid, add your crank handle and grind away. However, if you choose to use the exciting new electric grinder, Hario provides you with an extra means of stabilization with this little plastic holder. Simply make sure that the socket on the bottom of the electric grinder lines up with all you need to do is continuously hold the on button until all your beans have been ground.
Hario specifies it can grind 20 grams of coffee approximately 25 times after charging for a full three hours, but if for some reason you are needing it to, you can continuously grind for approximately two minutes.
When it comes time for charging, you have the little USB charging cable here and in regards to cleaning, we recommend that it does not come into contact with any liquid whatsoever. Just a clean dry brush is more than sufficient to keep it clean.
Freshly ground coffee is optimal for maximum flavour in all alternate brewing types, so it's really exciting that Hario have taken the consistency and the efficiency of hand grinding to a whole new level.

Yes! We sell a variety of green beans in 1kg bags, sourced from popular coffee regions including: Ethiopian Yirgacheffe, Indian Robusta, Sumatra Kuda Mas, Colombia Popayan, Brazil Ruby, Guatemala Antigua Los Volcanos, and Uganda Mt Elgon Bugisu. PLEASE NOTE: Current availability of green beans is limited due to supply issues. If you'd like to make an inquiry into what green beans we currently have available, please get in touch.
The majority of our blends are 100% Arabica, however we do have three blends that are mixed with a very high quality Indian Honey Processed Robusta: Black Caviar, Ruby Tuesday and Silverback. The added Robusta in the blend produces greater intensity and strength, making them popular choices among our customers. In fact, the Black Caviar is the primary blend we use in our own Espresso Bar!
Absolutely! All our customers who buy Crema Coffee Garage beans can have them ground at no extra charge and we can grind them for whatever method you’re using to brew. If you’re unsure about what grind you need, just have a chat to our staff who can help work out how coarse or fine you need the grind.
Long Answer: If you have whole beans at home that you are not going to use for quite some time (months or longer) and you really don’t want to waste them, then okay… store them in your freezer. Just make sure that when you use them again, only defrost the amount you’re using and use it straight away. However, in terms of a general storing method for everyday use, we do not recommend storing in your fridge or freezer. This is known as wet storage and basically what happens is the beans soak up every bit of moisture they can, quickly losing flavour and integrity.
The best method for storing your coffee beans or grind, is to put them in an airtight container (Friis containers are a blessing for this) and store in a cool dark place, such as your pantry. This will slow the staling process significantly and keep your coffee fresher for longer.
This is a more complicated question than it appears, as there are a number of factors that age beans and grind. Essentially you have anywhere between 4-6 weeks after roasting for whole beans and up to 3 weeks from the roast date for ground coffee, because it will stale quicker once ground. You will still be able to use your beans or grind outside of these time frames, but it’s a basic guideline for getting the best flavours out of your brew.
