The Accredited Course Bundle is designed to help individuals wishing to enter the hospitality industry, such as school leavers, to get job-ready.
The Accredited Barista Course Bundle includes:
Barista Foundations - Accredited Training
Barista Foundations covers two Nationally recognised units;
SITXFSA005 Use hygienic practices for food safety plus SITHFAB025 Prepare and serve espresso coffee. Successful completion of this class will give you a nationally recognised certificate that is designed to get you job-ready for a career in hospitality!
This 7-hour class is an ideal starting point for those wanting to gain employment within the hospitality sector. This class starts with the basics of coffee making and builds on your skills throughout the day and is suitable for novice and experienced baristas.
At the end of the day you will know:
- Your legal obligations when handling food within a cafe or restaurant
- How to correctly prepare all espresso beverages to industry standards including; correct espresso extraction, adjusting the grinder, creating silky smooth milk with the correct amount of foam for the drink you are making, correct coffee storage and the end of day cleaning procedures for the grinder and machine.
At Crema Coffee Academy, we take 5 students maximum per class, which means you are guaranteed your own complete workstation, giving you as much practise time as you need without having to share equipment. Each student also receives a student manual to take home.
To receive your Nationally recognised certificate, required assessments (short answer written test & practical demonstration) must be completed on the day. Camden Haven Community College is the Registered Training Organisation RTO 90018 and will issue a nationally recognised statement of attainment upon successful completion.
Classes are held every week in our training room at Broadmeadow.

PLEASE NOTE: Our coffee courses are only run at our Newcastle store, we do not currently offer barista training or coffee courses at our Brisbane location.
Session Outline:
- Safe food handling (approx 60mins)
- Correct espresso extraction - teaching manual and automatic dosing
- Milk Spinning achieving micro foam
- Correct preparation of the 10 main espresso beverages (each drink is made multiple times)
- Correct cleaning and use of equipment
- Each student receives a Training Manual to take away

Barista Advanced - Advanced Barista Techniques
Our Advanced class provides extra practice time preparing milk beverages. Students learn how to correctly dial in the grinder and prepare multiple coffees quickly and correctly as they hone their skills for the workplace.
Our Advanced class is a direct continuation from Barista Foundations and will help you hone your new skills and knowledge for the real world workplace.
In this class you will learn how to;
- Correctly dial in your grinder making the necessary adjustments to achieve the correct shot times
- Lean split pouring techniques to prepare and serve multiple orders to industry standards
- Improve both speed and accuracy of pouring the correct coffee for the customer’s order
- Correctly clean down your grinder and machine at the end of the session
- Test your skill with a speed challenge to prepare 7 drinks in 7 minutes
This class includes a short introduction to latte art techniques. A dedicated latte art class is available fortnightly. This two hour class can be completed directly after Barista Advanced.

Session Outline:
- Preparation - Prepare your workstation & season the machine ready for service
- Grouping & Planning - Multiple order planning and grouping of drinks working with 3 different types of milk
- Cafe Situation - We will put you through your paces in a speed challenge to prepare you for job situations
- End of Day - Workstation close, machine backflush & clean down
